About This Webinar

Female hormones play a crucial role in regulating various physiological processes, and disruptions in their balance can lead to health consequences. By analyzing the effects of environmental xenoestrogens and dietary phytoestrogens, this presentation aims to provide valuable insights into hormone balance and potential therapeutic interventions. We will highlight classification, pharmacology, and clinical relevance of phytoestrogens, including soy, black cohosh, hops, kudzu, licorice, fenugreek and vitex. We’ll also examine the evidence behind the controversy surrounding the effects of soy on women’s hormones.*

Shockingly, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (AACE) and the American Thyroid Association (ATA) report up to 60% of those with Thyroid disease are unaware of their condition.

Undiagnosed thyroid disease puts patients at risk for certain serious conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis and infertility.

Females are five to eight times more likely to than men to have thyroid problems. Pregnant women with undiagnosed or inadequately treated hypothyroidism have an increased risk of miscarriage, preterm delivery, and severe developmental problems in their children.

Join us with Dr. Rob Scott in the first of our regular Complimentary monthly webinar series as he deepens our understanding of the Thyroid including:

  • Identifying Thyroid concerns via the 10 patterns found in blood work

  • Establishing the causes of both Hypo and Hyperthyroidism

These feelings can trigger symptoms in the gut, change chemical reactions in the brain, and create chaos in the quality of life our patients experience. Join Sarah Outlaw, as she shares a direct and practical approach to addressing one of the most common categories of care in the 21st century. Here are a few highlights:

  • Understanding the Gut-Brain Connection

  • Anatomy and physiology of the enteric nervous system

Prescribing Exercise and Nutrition for Mood Support

Mood concerns affect a significant number of adult individuals. While pharmacological treatments, such as antidepressant medications, are commonly prescribed for its management, there is a growing body of research suggesting the potential benefits of alternative and adjunctive interventions. This presentation provides the landscape of evidence and aims to explore the effectiveness of prescribed moderate intensity exercise as compared to usual care, defined as prescribed antidepressant medications, in the tertiary prevention of depressive sequelae in adult patients diagnosed with unipolar depression. By examining this comparison, it may be possible to shed light on the potential role of exercise as a complementary approach to traditional pharmacotherapy in promoting mental well-being and mitigating the long-term consequences of depression.*

Practical applications of the current literature will be discussed as well as additional considerations such as nutritional guidance and the use of dietary supplements in this population.*

Botanicals included in this presentation include saffron, St. John’s wort, turmeric, and rhodiola.

The Search for the Perfect Protein

Dr. David Minkoff MD joins us for a special webinar on the perfect protein. Dr. David Minkoff is board certified in Pediatrics, worked 12 years in Emergency medicine, and had completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases, but when his wife became ill and sought out functional medicine approaches, his eyes opened up to a new way of treating patients. Decades later, at 78 years young, he is still working full-time in his Florida alternative medical clinic, Lifeworks Wellness Center and has completed over 41 Ironman Triathlons.

Dr. Minkoff is also the founder of BodyHealth, a nutrition company with the flagship product - Perfect Aminos. Proteins are the basic building blocks of the human body, but most people are deficient in amino acids, which can lead to diabetes, obesity, cancer, and a host of other chronic illnesses and autoimmune diseases. His company is finalizing a wholesale brand and label for the Perfect Amino products and new formulas just for practitioners to sell in their offices. In his book, The Search for the Perfect Protein, Dr, Minkoff explores the importance of clean proteins in the diet and solutions to build a stronger, healthier life.

During this webinar, Dr. Minkoff will allow us a peak into his research and formulations, and why all proteins are not created equal. You'll be fascinated and educated. With your registration, you can watch live and participate in the Q&A or catch the 30-day replay – the same link works for both.

Impact of Select Herbals on CYP Liver Enzymes and Estrogen Metabolism

About This Webinar

The CYP 450 family of liver enzymes is the main pathway of detoxification of various chemicals in the body, from our hormones to xenobiotics. Chemical components of plants, whether taken as foods or herbal products, have known effects on the action of these enzyme pathways. In this talk, we'll review the literature on these known effects and speculate on how that might impact the detoxification of our hormones. This could have clinical implications both positive and negative.

Herbs to be discussed include hops, citrus, St. John's wort, peppermint, rosemary, nettle, green tea, coleus and licorice, among others.

This webinar is for healthcare professionals and students only.

Harnessing the Power of the Vagus Nerve

Harnessing the Power of the Vagus Nerve

Presenter: Mark J. Tager, MD

There is a new syndrome sweeping our country, driving clients and patients to come see practitioners. It is the extreme sympathetic nervous system dominance creating legions of “wired and tired” people. This over-stimulation is responsible for robbing sleep, disturbing calm, and interrupting focus. It also fuels the flames of inflammation.*

There is an antidote to this problem. Its roots lie in restoring vagal tone. The vagus nerve, the Xth cranial, is the longest nerve in the body. It is responsible for the autonomic regulation associated with “rest and digest.” Today we realize that we can stimulate the vagus and put its beneficial regulation to work several ways. These include lifestyle modifications, supplements including herbs and botanicals; and consumer devices that conveniently and safely provide gentle electrical stimulation.*

By attending this engaging webinar, you will:
• Review the anatomy and physiology of the vagus nerve
• Become acquainted with lifestyle hacks for developing vagal tone
• Understand how selected minerals, herbs, and botanicals work via the vagus nerve to downregulate inflammation and promote calm and focus.
• Learn why and how non-invasive vagus nerve stimulation can impact focus, relaxation, and sleep.
• Become introduced to a synergistic protocol for ameliorating “vagus insufficiency”, thus promoting health and vitality.*
